User status detection
Ensuring safe use of driving functions based on precise recording of user status
Problem definition
The effective use of automated driving functions requires precise recognition of the user’s condition. Unclear or inaccurate information about the physical and mental state of users can lead to safety risks and reduced acceptance.
Solution approach
This work package develops technologies to comprehensively record the user’s condition, accounting for both the driver’s mental and physical state.
This includes the integration of sensors and algorithms that collect real-time data on attention, fatigue, stress levels and other relevant factors. The data collected is used to adjust the current driving mode and ensure that the user is able to use the automated functions safely.
Aim
This work package is to develop a reliable and user-friendly user state recognition system that increases safety and supports the seamless handover between automated and manual driving.
This contributes to the overall acceptance and efficiency of automated driving functions by giving users confidence in the technology while minimizing the risk of human error.
